About The Auction
Spruce Meadows is about community, offering a tranquil and family-friendly place that is open year round for all to enjoy. In 2014 Spruce Meadows introduced its “Horses Jump To Give A Leg Up” initiative to assist twenty charities, foundations and Not-For-Profit organizations that had been affected by the floods.
This year marks Spruce Meadows’ 40th Anniversary and the facility will continue giving back to the community by again
offering the “Horses Jump to Give a Leg Up” program.
“Horses Jump to Give a Leg Up” provides assistance for those charities, foundations and Not-For-Profit organizations in Southern Alberta who repeatedly help others. The concept is to help develop greater awareness of the organizations, their compassionate and thoughtful outreach programs, and the lives they touch.
Twenty charities, foundations and Not-For-Profit organizations were selected to create an innovative design on a life- sized fiberglass horse. All of the horses will be unveiled at the ‘National’ Tournament, June 3-7, 2015. The fiberglass horses, stabled at Spruce Meadows for the outdoor tournament season, will be available for on-line auction during the summer months, with the bidding closing in September at the ‘Masters’ Tournament. All proceeds from the sale of each equine will go to the organization behind its imaginative design.
